Performing Artist & Actor
Danny Whitehead trained at the Guildford School of Acting in the UK. He has been awarded with the BBC Performing Arts Award, the Sir Michael Redgrave Award, and the Ian Fleming Award. Danny recently made his Australian stage debut playing the leading role of Billy Bigelow in Carousel at The Princess Theatre in Melbourne.
Before relocating to Australia, over the past twelve years Danny has starred in some of the West End’s most iconic productions, including Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera at His Majesty’s Theatre, Les Misérables at the Queen’s Theatre and, more recently, The Narrator in the phenomenally popular national UK tour of Blood Brothers. Danny’s other UK and West End stage credits include roles in Wicked, Passion, South Pacific, Dolly Parton’s Smokey Mountain Christmas Carol, The Secret Garden, Sweeney Todd, 14-18, and Hugh Whitemore’s play Breaking The Code.
As a concert performer, Danny has graced some of England’s most prestigious venues, including the Palace Theatre, Cadogan Hall, and the Royal Albert Hall. His concert appearances include Sondheim at 80 Prom, Pride at the Palace, Brian May’s Anthems, Sondheim! and Rags. Danny was a guest artist on the world premiere recording of the complete original score of Rodger and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma with the John Wilson Orchestra.
On screen, Danny recently appeared as Mick in the BBC drama Ralph and Katie.
