Steph Prem takes Visit Victoria to her favourite healthy places in Melbourne just in time for spring!!!
As a former Winter Olympian, founder and director of Studio PP – Melbourne’s latest luxury health and fitness destination – Steph Prem knows a thing or two about staying fit and healthy. Here, she shares her tips on navigating a healthy weekend in Melbourne.
Saturday
7am: Takeaway smoothie or breaky at Combi cafe in Elwood.
8am: Weekend workout – either yoga, reformer pilates, barre, bootcamp or boxing at Studio PP in South Yarra.
10am: Juice date with a girlfriend at Green St. Juice Co in Prahran.
12pm: Hit the markets for fresh produce and gather some tasty, healthy picnic ingredients. I like to go to the Prahran Market or South Melbourne Market.
1pm: Picnic with husband and friends at the Royal Botanic Gardens with fresh platters and sandwiches and healthy treats from the market.
3pm: Walk the dog around the ‘Tan’ (the track around the edge of the Royal Botanic Gardens).
6pm: Head north-side for a “healthy” vodka cocktail with the best view of Melbourne at Naked for Satan followed by dinner at Vegie Bar or Yong Green Food.
Sunday
9am: Post sleep-in walk along Brighton beach (admiring the beach boxes) or along St Kilda beach and pier.
10am: Coffee or juice date at Schoolhouse cafe in Brighton – especially if the sun is out!
12pm: Healthy outing to the 1000 steps in the Dandenong Ranges followed by a packed lunch at the top with leftover market ingredients – or stop off at The Piggery for lunch instead. Alternatively, head down the coast to the Mornington Peninsula for a surf or a paddle board and enjoy lunch with leftover market ingredients – or restock up on fresh produce at Mornington Peninsula’s farm gates.
6pm onwards: Early dinner at Mr Myagi or Tokyo Tina on Chapel Street.
