Ruby O’Kelly was born in Melbourne, hailing from a (very) large Irish family. At the age of 10, she shot her first commercial with the late Steve Irwin who gave her some legendary advice. “Don’t just hang out with the actors, talk to everybody on set, be grateful, be humble and the DOP is your best friend!” This advice shaped Ruby’s attitude and strong work ethic as an actor.
After completing high school, Ruby’s dedication led her to be accepted into the acclaimed acting program at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Ruby O’Kelly has built a diverse career across film, television, theatre, and voiceover. Her screen credits include ABC’s Optics, Fake for Paramount Plus, STAN’s Totally Completely Fine, and the upcoming comedy thriller He Had It Coming, set to be released later this year (2025). She also appears in Hoodlum Entertainment’s Harrow (Season 2), Amazon Prime’s The Moth Effect, and various sketches in The Chaser’s War on 2020. Additionally, Ruby has made regular appearances in comedic sketches on SBS’s The Feed.
Rubys theatre credits include: Claryssa in ATYP’s production of MOTH, Juliet in SheShakespeare’s ROMEO & JULIET and two consecutive years of touring nationally for Echelon Productions ‘What’s the Matter- Science Week’ and ‘STEMANIA- Science Week.’
